Baltimore City Council President Nicholas Mosby took the stand Thursday to testify in the mortgage fraud trial of his ex-wife, former Baltimore state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby.
Marilyn faces two counts of making false statements on mortgage loan applications. Among other things, she is alleged to have knowingly failed to disclose significant tax liabilities and a $45,000 tax lien imposed in March 2020 when applying for mortgages for two vacation properties in Florida.
But Nicholas told jurors that the taxes were entirely his responsibility, and that he kept his then-wife in the dark about the liabilities they’d amassed.
