Ballard Spahr Lawyer Sues Firm Alleging Disability, Sex Bias (2)

A former Ballard Spahr LLP employee benefits and executive compensation attorney was denied accommodation for her epilepsy and otherwise subjected to disability and sex discrimination, she said in a new lawsuit.

The bias included being told on the day she returned from medical leave that she would be fired in a few months, Kimberly Steefel said in the suit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. The accommodation she initially sought, which was backed by her doctor, was flexibility in her work schedule, Steefel said.
