Baldoni Publicist Advances Phone Access Claims on Ex-Employer

A public relations agent who represented Justin Baldoni, among others, can proceed with state law claims stemming from her former workplace’s retention of her telephone number and its seizure of her messages.

Jennifer Abel said she represented Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios at Jonesworks, founded by Stephanie Jones. Abel alleged in her complaint that her relationship with Jonesworks deteriorated, leading her to depart the company.

During the off-boarding process, Jonesworks allegedly seized Abel’s mobile device in order to return the phone number she transferred to the company when she started. Jonesworks failed to immediately release the number, Abel said.
