The Illinois Supreme Court rejected Baker McKenzie’s request to consider its appeal of a lower-court ruling that the law firm must defend itself in Illinois from a legal malpractice lawsuit.
The court gave no reason for its decision Wednesday. All justices participated.
Lehram Capital Investments Ltd. sued the law firm’s Russia-based affiliate, Baker CIS, claiming its lawyers gave the investment company bad legal advice.
