Auto Parts Company to Pay $320,000 to Settle Clean Air Act Suit

Tennessee-based Diesel Performance Parts Inc. agreed to pay $320,000 to end the US Environmental Protection Agency’s lawsuit alleging the company violated the Clean Air Act.

The diesel auto parts wholesaler allegedly sold aftermarket products that “bypass, defeat, or render inoperative emissions controls installed on motor vehicle engines,” according to the EPA’s complaint filed Monday alongside a proposed consent decree in the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
