Attorney Software Providers Settle Trade Secret Dispute

CourtAlert.com voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit accusing American LegalNet Inc. of stealing confidential information and using it to solicit clients.

The companies, both of which provide case monitoring and management software to law firms and law departments, filed their joint notice to dismiss with prejudice. The 2020 lawsuit claimed AmericanLegalNet misappropriated trade secrets in violation of federal and New York law and engaged in unfair competition. The suit also accused CourtAlert’s former head of sales, who was poached by American LegalNet, of breaching his contract by sharing confidential company information.
