A law largely banning the sale of machine guns is unconstitutional under the Second Amendment argued a lawsuit filed Friday in federal court.
Colorado-based attorney Atilla Baksay says the Hughes Amendment, which is federal law that banned machine gun ownership for guns purchased after 1986, can’t pass the US Supreme Court’s standard under the case previously known as N.Y. State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n Inc. v. Bruen, according to his complaint in the US District Court for the District of Colorado.
