Atlas Data Suit Seeking Daniel’s Law Info Takedowns Advances

Atlas Data Privacy Corp. sufficiently alleged that a list of data brokers and related companies failed to timely respond to requests to take down information about New Jersey public servants under the state’s privacy shield known as Daniel’s Law, a district court said.

The privacy firm’s lawsuit on behalf of about 19,000 people, as well as the complaints filed by a handful of individuals who filed takedown requests without Atlas, succeeded in stating their claims, Judge Harvey Bartle III wrote for the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
