AT&T Customer Granted Trial Over $24 Million Cryptocurrency Hack

AT&T Mobility LLC must face trial in a lawsuit over $24 million in cryptocurrency losses suffered by a customer after the company allowed hackers to take control of his phone number and gain access to his accounts.

A reasonable jury could find that AT&T’s alleged violation of the Federal Communications Act was the cause of the losses suffered by plaintiff Michael Terpin, Judge Otis D. Wright II of the US District Court for the Central District of California said Wednesday.
