Asylum seekers can proceed as a class in their suit challenging a proclamation that prevents non-citizens from accessing the asylum process at ports of entry along the US-Mexico border.
Plaintiffs can also challenge as a class the government’s cancellation of pending CBP One appointments, and disabling of the scheduling function in a mobile application that provided the only avenue for most non-citizens to seek asylum, Judge Ruth Bermudez Montenegro of the US District Court for the Southern District of California said in a March 30 order.
