AstraZeneca Wins Pause on Utah Contract Pharmacy Law Enforcement

A federal judge temporarily paused enforcement of parts of a Utah law that would regulate how federally discounted drugs are distributed by pharmacies in the state.

The US District Court for the District of Utah on March 2 issued an enforcement stay order on the state’s Senate Bill 69, a law that prevents pharmaceutical manufacturers such as plaintiff AstraZeneca from restricting access to drugs to any Utah pharmacy partnering with health entities eligible for discounted medications under the federal 340B discount drug program.
