A proposed class suit alleging Ashley Madison unlawfully charges men more than women to use the dating service was dismissed by a California court for lack of personal jurisdiction over Canadian operators Ruby Corp. and Ruby Life Inc.
Californian Harry Crouch alleged Ashley Madison prohibits men of all sexual orientations from initiating contact with women without first purchasing credits. Women, though, don’t have to pay to contact men. Instead, Crouch said, a woman can send a “collect” message indicating interest, and the man is then required to use credits to open the message and respond.
