Final judgment was entered on a settlement between Ascension Michigan affiliates and a class of employees denied religious exemptions from Covid-19 vaccination.
The US District Court for the Western District of Michigan on Monday directed the clerk of the court to enter a final order and judgment in the July 2022 lawsuit and close the case. The development came after the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on June 3 vacated the district judge’s previous approval of the pact, finding the plaintiffs’ failed to establish their standing to sue in federal court.
