Tech trade group NetChoice convinced a federal judge to block enforcement of an Arkansas law prohibiting social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat from using features they know can have harmful effects.
Arkansas Act 901 “prohibits a substantial amount of protected speech relative to its plainly legitimate sweep,” and NetChoice is likely to succeed on the merits of its facial First Amendment challenge to the law, the US District Court for the Western District of Arkansas said Monday, issuing a preliminary injunction.
