Apple’s iOS License Likely Allows AirTag Stalker Case to Proceed

Apple’s iOS software license agreement appears to allow iPhone users who were stalked using Apple AirTags to proceed with their suit against the company, a federal judge in San Francisco said Thursday.

The license agreement, which covers all iPhone users, appears to show that lawsuits over Apple products must be litigated under California law, Judge Vince Chhabria of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. The plaintiffs—more than 40 people who were stalked using the AirTag device—argued California law must govern the suits from stalking victims who lived outside the state due to Apple’s license agreement. ...
