Apple Defeats Suit Over Child Porn on iCloud System for Now (1)

Apple Inc. largely defeated a lawsuit alleging the tech giant allowed the distribution of child sexual abuse material on its iMessage and iCloud platforms in violation of state and federal laws.

The complaint failed to adequately allege that Apple intended to promote prostitution when it allowed child sexual abuse material to be stored on its iCloud system, or that the company had actual knowledge of the material at issue, Judge Noël Wise of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Thursday.
