Apple White Worker Sues Over Race Bias in Promotion Process

An Apple Inc. white worker sued the technology giant alleging he was passed over for a promotion to store leader in South Carolina in favor of a less qualified, younger African American candidate.

J. Eric Larsen, a 51-year-old gay white male, alleges Apple’s hiring manager showed discriminatory animus in a 2018 interview and again in 2023 when denying him the promotion, according to the lawsuit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina,
