Apple Sheds Carbon-Neutral Apple Watches Deception Class Suit

Apple Inc. convinced a federal judge to dismiss a proposed class action alleging the technology company duped buyers into believing certain Apple Watches they purchased were “carbon neutral.”

“Every layer of Plaintiffs’ allegations about Apple’s sales of Apple Watches are based on unsubstantiated assumptions,” Judge Noël Wise of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Feb. 20.

The consumers alleged Apple’s carbon neutral promises were false because it relies on carbon offsets to make those claims, but those offsets are improperly calculated.
