Apple iCloud Subscribers Seek Final Nod for $14.8 Million Deal

Apple Inc. iCloud subscribers urged a federal court in California to approve a $14.8 million class settlement resolving allegations that Apple breached their contract by storing their data on third-party servers rather than Apple’s server.

The deal provides automatic payment to nearly 16.9 million class members, ensuring distribution of the whole net fund to class members, after payment of fees and expenses, lead plaintiff James Stewart and others said in a filing to the US District Court for the Northern District of California. None of the settlement funds will revert to Apple.
