Apple Free to Recover $4 Million from Texas in iCloud Sales Tax

Apple Inc. can attempt to recover $4.7 million plus interest that the technology giant paid the state of Texas in sales tax for iCloud and iTunes Match services, a state district judge said Thursday.

Apple showed it can bring the suit over whether it should have to pay the taxes because it properly challenged the tax payment at an administrative hearing, said Judge Laurie Eiserloh of the 455th Civil District Court in Travis County.
