Apple Exaggerated iPhone 16’s AI Features, Deception Suit Says

Apple Inc. over-promised artificial intelligence features that don’t work yet to promote the iPhone 16, a proposed consumer class action alleged.

“Apple deceived millions of consumers into purchasing new phones they did not need based on features that do not exist,” the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. “For months, the trillion-dollar tech giant touted these AI-capabilities as the cornerstone of the new iPhone’s appeal, promising consumers a product that would redefine smartphone use in the new AI economy.”
