Apple Beats Suit Challenging iPhone Water-Resistance Assertions

Apple Inc. shook off a proposed class suit alleging it overstated the water resistance of iPhones, as a federal court in New York said consumers didn’t plausibly allege that their devices failed because of liquid contact the company said the phones could withstand.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York also said claims on behalf of a South Carolina class warrant dismissal for lack of personal jurisdiction.
