Appeals Court Won’t Order Transfer of Patent Case Against Apple

Apple Inc. will have to defend against an ex-PayPal security researcher’s patent infringement claims in the Western District of Texas after the Federal Circuit ruled Monday that the lower court didn’t abuse its discretion in denying a transfer to a California federal court.

Carbyne Biometrics LLC alleged that the tech giant infringed biometric authentication and fraud prevention patents relating to Secure Enclave and Apple Cash, respectively.
