Anti-Abortion Leader Gets Plea Deal in Recording Case (Correct)

Anti-abortion activist David Daleiden pleaded no contest to one count of illegally recording confidential conversations at Planned Parenthood meetings, resolving a years-long criminal case in California.

Daleiden and his reporting partner Sandra Merritt were charged in 2017 by the California attorney general for releasing undercover videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood officials discussing fees for purchasing fetal tissue.

Daleiden and Merritt must not contact the victims and can’t make any additional recordings that violate the law under the no contest plea deal, attorney general Rob Bonta (D) said Tuesday in a press release.
