Mark Lee Dickson—the anti-abortion activist behind Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn and maker of social media posts calling several abortion rights groups “criminal organizations"—won’t have to face those funds’ defamation claims.
The cases can’t go forward because Dickson was expressing an opinion which is constitutionally protected, the Texas Supreme Court said Friday.
Dickson and his organization encouraged Texas small towns to pass ordinances that outlawed abortion and, on Facebook, declared abortion funds were criminal organizations and that abortion was murder.
