Anthem Latest Insurer Sued Over Proton Radiation Therapy Denial

Anthem Insurance Companies Inc. and The Elevance Health Companies Inc. are the latest to face a lawsuit over denying coverage for a cancer treatment called proton beam radiation therapy.

Todd Taylor filed the proposed class action in the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee on Thursday. He brings a single count of improper denial of benefits against the insurer. He seeks to represent a class of people who were covered by Anthem through their employers and were denied coverage for this treatment.
