A union representing California public employees who are attorneys and ALJs reached a deal with the state Wednesday to delay Gov. Gavin Newsom’s return-to-office directive for state workers for a full year, the union said.
The deal comes just two days after Professional Engineers in California Government reached a similar resolution on the issue with the state amid growing labor and legal pushback to Newsom’s March executive order. The order requires nearly 100,000 state employees to return to the office at least four days per week starting July 1.
