Anheuser-Busch Margarita Drink Just Flavored Beer, Suit Says

Anheuser-Busch LLC dupes consumers by selling margarita-named packaged drinks without tequila, mojito drinks with no rum, and rosé and sangria beverages that lack wine, a new would-be class suit in a New York federal court alleges.

Tanya Cooper and Joseph Rose alleged they were deceived by Anheuser-Busch’s marketing of its “Ritas” brand beverages sold in enclosed packages.

The drinks don’t contain the liquor or wine associated with their names, but are just flavored beer, the suit filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleges.
