More than a dozen lawsuits alleging AngioDynamics Inc. and Navilyst Medical Inc. made defective implantable port catheter devices were centralized and sent to a federal court in California on Thursday.
The lawsuits share factual questions related to claims alleging the catheter portion of the products degraded and caused complications, the US Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said. The plaintiffs allege the port catheter products caused infections, fractures, and blood clots because of the devices’ design.
The panel sent the cases to the US District Court for the Southern District of California and noted that there were 33 potential tag-along actions. ...
