Americold Logistics LLC agreed to settle a proposed class action alleging the transportation and cold-storage company negligently failed to protect the personal information of nearly 130,000 employees and consumers that was exposed in a 2023 data breach.
The parties filed a joint notice of settlement March 6 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The plaintiffs alleged in a consolidated complaint that Americold breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely notice of the breach.
