American Airlines Beats New Worker Suit Over Covid Early Buyouts

Former American Airlines Inc. flight attendants were barred from suing under contract and fraud law over the airline’s allegedly breached promises not to enhance its Covid-related early retirement program.

The plaintiffs were all part of a prior class lawsuit that alleged age discrimination was at play in the voluntary early out program accepted when American faced a declining industry due to the pandemic, the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said Tuesday.
