Amazon Warehouse Worker Military Pay Class Should Be Certified

A former Amazon.com Services warehouse worker who alleges she and around 9,000 other employees were denied full pay for short-term military leave should be granted class certification for their damages claims, a New York magistrate judge wrote in a Monday report.

US Magistrate Judge Lara K. Eshkenazi said short term military leave up to 30 days could be considered comparable to jury leave. It’s possible that all members of a class who took military leave were similarly injured if the company failed to provide military leave benefits on par with other types of leave, she wrote.
