Amazon Sued Over Retaliation For 140 Degree Delivery Car Reports

A manager whose workers were the first Amazon drivers in the US to unionize has sued the e-commerce giant over the termination of his company’s contract.

Johnathon Ervin alleges that the move was retaliation for his repeated reports of employee safety concerns. He had raised flags for years about broken air conditioners that sent car temperatures ballooning to 140 degrees and unrealistic delivery quotas that forced drivers—sometimes told to work while sick or fatigued, or on flooded roads—to break traffic rules or skip breaks.
