Amazon Reaches Confidential Settlement in Biometric-Privacy Suit

Amazon.com Inc. and its cloud-computing unit, Amazon Web Services Inc., reached a confidential settlement with a consumer alleging they illegally collected his facial geometry while he played the NBA 2K video game.

The company and lead plaintiff Dominic Mayhall filed a joint stipulated motion of dismissal Wednesday with the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
