Amazon Hit With Job Bias Suit Over Worker’s Religious Jewelry

Amazon.com Services LLC allegedly discriminated against a warehouse worker who wore her religious jewelry at work while undergoing security screenings, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court.

Cecilia Thompson, a 56-year-old Black woman, says Amazon failed to accommodate her sincerely held religious practice of wearing jewelry daily, subjected her to multiple disciplinary actions and eventually fired her in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
