Construction firms hired to build a new Amazon warehouse in California’s capital city failed to shake off allegations they stiffed carpenters on overtime pay and break time.
The amended complaint sufficiently alleged that Clayco Inc. and subcontractor United Contractor Services LLC failed to pay overtime or comply with state laws on meal and rest breaks, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said. But the court granted the firms’ motion to strike some some allegations as immaterial to the claims.
