Amazon $950,000 Settlement With Remote Workers Wins Approval

Amazon.com Inc. will pay nearly $1 million to settle California workers’ claims for home internet expenses incurred during the pandemic-era shutdown after their settlement won a federal judge’s final approval.

Judge Vince Chhabria of the US District Court for the Northern District of California on Thursday approved the settlement covering 6,893 current and former Amazon corporate workers who are or were based at one of the company’s nine California office locations and worked remotely for at least one pay period from March 15, 2020, through July 1, 2022.
