Ally Must Face Consumers’ Class Claims Over Loan Payment Fees

Ally Financial, Inc. will face class action claims that borrowers were unlawfully charged a service fee each time they submitted electronic or telephonic monthly car loan payments, a federal judge said.

And Judge Frank W. Volk, of the US District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, said in a separate ruling the same day that the company’s motion for summary judgment was largely denied.
