A federal jury will decide whether Allied University Security Services discriminated against a security guard because he’s Kurdish, from Iraq, and wore a beard in compliance with his Muslim faith.
The US District Court for the Southern District of Texas cited alleged comments by the former employee’s supervisor in ordering a trial in the case. The supervisor allegedly referred to the plaintiff using a racist epithet and told him “go back to where you came from,” the court said.
