Alleged US Xpress Acquisition Tippee to Pay SEC Nearly $168,000

An Arizona man who allegedly purchased US Xpress Enterprises Inc. stock on inside information about the trucking company’s sale negotiations will pay the SEC about $168,000 to settle an enforcement suit.

Brian Kashman will disgorge the $77,723 in profit that he allegedly made when the deal became public and the stock price nearly tripled, according to his consent agreement filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Arizona.

He’ll pay an equal amount as a civil penalty to the Securities and Exchange Commission, and about $12,000 in interest on the disgorgement.
