Alight Dismissed From Northrop Grumman Pension Calculation Suit

Alight Solutions LLC escaped a federal lawsuit by Northrop Grumman Corp. retirees who say they were misled about their pensions, when a California federal court declined to hear their state-law negligence claims against the benefits administrator.

The court has neither diversity jurisdiction nor supplemental jurisdiction over claims alleging that Alight made negligent misrepresentations in communicating with Northrop employees about their pensions, Judge Otis D. Wright II of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said Monday.
