Alaska Air Beats Worker Bid to Get Wage Suit Back in State Court

Alaska Airlines Inc. defeated a flight attendant’s attempt to have her proposed class wage case remanded to state court after a federal judge said the company met statutory requirements for removing the suit.

The airline established that there’s more than $5 million at stake in the litigation, satisfying the Class Action Fairness Act’s amount-in-controversy requirement, and the worker failed to show that the case falls within an exception to the law’s jurisdiction, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said.
