Alabama Asks Court to Let it Enforce Gender-Affirming Care Ban

A federal judge in Alabama is improperly preventing the state from enforcing its gender-affirming care ban while a lawsuit over its constitutionality proceeds, the state told the Eleventh Circuit.

The US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit vacated Judge Liles C. Burke’s preliminary injunction in August, but the judge refused to halt it because the appeals court withheld its mandate after the plaintiffs filed a motion for a full-court rehearing, the state’s attorneys said Tuesday.
