AI Recruitment Company Says Competitor Scraped Its Database

Jobiak LLC, an AI recruitment platform, is suing Aspen Technology Labs Inc. for allegedly scraping its database.

Aspen Technology “maliciously scraped” the database and “incorporated the contents directly into its own job listings,” Jobiak said Tuesday in its complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California. Data scraping involves a computer program extracting data from a website or other readable output and then putting that information into a spreadsheet to analyze and process it.

Jobiak is accusing Aspen Technology of copyright infringement and computer fraud and abuse, according to the filing.
