AgReserves Gets Almond Farm Worker’s Wage Suit Tossed, for Now

AgReserves Inc. convinced a federal court in Fresno to retain jurisdiction over a proposed class action despite dismissing its claims alleging that more than 900 almond farm laborers in California were deprived of wages and breaks.

AgReserves established that the claims are worth about $4.58 million, based on expert analysis of employee data,. Plus, the attorneys’ fees are assumed to be about 9%, or $425,000, of the potential recovery, Judge Anthony W. Ishii of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California said Thursday.
