Aflac Hit With Wave of Class Actions Over June Data Breach

Health-insurance provider Aflac Inc. is facing at least 11 proposed federal class actions over a June data breach that exposed the information of thousands of people.

Plaintiffs alleged in separate lawsuits that Aflac breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely notice of the incident.
