Pennsylvania-based Adoptions from the Heart Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect more than 2,500 current and former clients’ personal information in a 2024 data breach.
Lead plaintiff Erik LaSalle sufficiently alleged that he experienced serious harms that were traceable to the breach, and was at risk of further injury, Judge Gerald A. McHugh of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said last week.
McHugh denied the adoption agency’s motion to dismiss.
