Adidas Must Continue to Defend Against Website Tracking Suit

Adidas America Inc. will continue to face a proposed class action suit alleging the company violated California privacy law by using trackers on its website, a federal district court said.

Plaintiff Maeve Camplisson and others adequately alleged that Adidas violated the California Invasion of Privacy Act by claiming the company’s trackers collected a broad set of their personal information without their consent, Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of the US District Court for the Southern District of California said in an order denying Adidas’ motion to dismiss.
