Activision Wins $14 Million Over ‘Call of Duty’ Cheat Codes

Activision Blizzard Inc.‘s publishing company will receive more than $14 million from a company that sold “Call of Duty” cheat codes that US players downloaded over 72,000 times.

Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald of the US District Court for the Central District of California additionally ordered EngineOwning UG to transfer its website name, www.EngineOwning.to, to Activision, in his Tuesday ruling that granted Activision Publishing Inc.'s motion for default judgment. The Santa Monica-based company won $200 in statutory damages per download and almost $300,000 in attorneys’ fees.
