Activision Loses Sanctions Bid Against State Over EEOC Deal Row

Activision Blizzard Inc. lost its bid to sanction the California Civil Rights Department for the agency’s attempt to intervene in a consent decree between the gaming company and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a federal judge ruled.

The agreement between the federal agency and Activision sought to end allegations of sex harassment, retaliation, and pregnancy discrimination at the video game company. The state agency “is not a party and is not bound by the decree,” Judge Dale S. Fischer, of the US District Court for the Central District of California, said in an order released Wednesday.
